US – Genting to open Resorts World Hudson Valley next year

Genting Malaysia, which owns Resorts World New York City and Resorts World Catskills in Sullivan County, has said it hopes to debut Resorts World Hudson Valley, its new casino in Newburgh, New York, by 2022.
Meghan Taylor, Vice President of government affairs and public relations for Resorts World, said: “We look forward to breaking ground soon and delivering on our commitment to create good-paying union jobs for local residents, help revitalize the Newburgh Mall, serve as an economic engine in the Hudson Valley, and begin generating revenue for New York State’s public schools.”
The projected opening follows Newburgh’s Town Board approval of an agreement between Monticello Raceway Management and Resorts World Hudson Valley to bring video lottery terminals and an electronic casino to the Newburgh Mall in Orange County, New York.
Genting beabsichtigt, am Standort 1,300 Video-Lotterie-Terminals sowie die charakteristische Lounge von Resort World, die Bar 360, zu betreiben. Dadurch werden 200 bis 225 Vollzeitarbeitsplätze mit einem durchschnittlichen Jahresgehalt von 74,000 US-Dollar und Sozialleistungen geschaffen. Der VLT-Standort wird 3 Millionen US-Dollar an jährlichen Gastgebergebühren generieren, die von der Stadt Newburgh und Orange County aufgeteilt werden.
